SPANISH CLUB TO COSTA RICA IN 2014
Travelling sometime in June of 2014, four members of the Drummond High School Spanish Club will be travelling to Costa Rica with their Spanish teacher, Laura Jennerman. The students going on this trip are: Hailey Moore, Dena Hambrecht, LeeAnna Ruprecht, and Sophia Lucas. The trip is for eight days and seven nights. The students will be staying with host families as well as at a lodge. Students will travel to the Costa Rican rainforest, a chocolate plantation, a pineapple plantation, an orphanage or local school, and the beach at Isla Tortuga (Turtle Island).
The cost of the trip is approximately $2200 per student. Students have been and will be participating in a number of fundraising activities to help pay for the trip. They are volunteering at local events, holding bake sales, taco dinners, and much more.
Please consider making a donation to our trip, either to an individual student, or to the whole group. Donations may be sent to:

Mr. Stitt’s Microcomputer class gave a presentation on internet safety to the fifth grade classes. Topics covered were the dangers of talking to people online - including social networking, cyberbullying, and online predators. They told them of the warning signs of predators and cyberbullying. It was emphasized to stop and report cyberbullying and online predators to parents, teachers, or any adult. The Microcomputer class handed out crosswords to the younger students to engage them in the presentation. A video on online predators and a video on cyberbullying were also included in the presentation. They were good listeners and asked great questions.
